downloads pre-built packages from the
.Li bulk
module on rsync.rawnix.org and installs them with
.Xr addpkg 8
into the system mounted at
.Ar mountpoint .
It is the netinstaller's own command; on the installer image it
replaces
.Xr install 1 ,
which is why this page is read with
.Ic man 8 install .

The target must be mounted and prepared with
.Xr setup-filesystem 8
first.
The groups are installed in the order given; the runtime libraries
always come first.

The newest prebuilt cloud kernel,

the same kernel without the drivers a virtual machine has no use for:
no wireless, no GPU, no bluetooth, no sound.
Installed the same way as
.Cm kernel ,
and never beside it:

The development tools are only installed as part of
.Cm base :
llvm, rust, gcc-compat, cmake, python3, make, meson, samurai,
pkgconf, autoconf, automake, libtool, m4 and perl.

Installing the kernel writes the boot menu on the EFI system partition;

.Xr bootloader 7 .
Later kernels are never installed by
.Ic pkg sysup ;
a kernel is only ever installed by hand.

Afterwards
.Nm
copies
.Pa /etc/ports/ports.rsync
and the trusted keys in
.Pa /etc/ports/keys/
into the target, so the new system can sync and verify ports.

exits 0 when every package was installed.
If some were not, it lists them, warns that the target is incomplete,
and exits 1.
It stops at once if the network or the target is not usable.
